Vastu Tips For House Construction

Vastu Shastra is a science relevant to construction of buildings. It is believed that following Vastu Shastra during and after construction work can even convert an inauspicious plot into an auspicious one, thereby making it favourable for human dwelling. Here are a few Vastu tips for house construction. These guidelines should be followed while getting a new house constructed.

Vastu tips before commencing construction work on the plot

To ensure a hassle free construction process, it is important to clear the entire plot off all thorny plants, stones and bushes before commencing construction work on it. Fillers should be used to cover the holes in the ground. It is equally essential to get trash removed from the construction site from time to time. There should not be any break in construction work for any reason. It s always more apt to get construction work done during the day time. Construction work for new home should not be carried out in the night.

Construction material to be used

For constructing your new house, always purchase new raw materials for the same. Old, used and second hand materials should not be used for constructing a new structure as they carry the negativity from previous owners. Avoid using wood obtained from thorny trees. For making doors and door frames, the same material should be used like for instance if the door is being made out of wood, the frame of the door too should be made out of the same wood.

             
Storage of materials  

               
The southwest, south or west directions should be used for storing construction materials. This will ensure completion of construction work without interruption.

Excavation

Vastu suggests that the north east corner should be used to begin with the excavation of the land, thereby proceeding towards east, north and west directions.

Water Pump

North east, north or east directions should be used to place the water sources in the plot. These would suggest better flow of water and would bring about harmony for the owners.

Laying foundation

The south east corner should be chosen to begin with the construction work and to lay the foundation stone. It should then proceed towards Northwest. Alternatively, it can also start from southwest and proceed to southeast or begin from northwest and take it further to northeast.

Entrance door

The position of the entrance door should be in the north, northeast and east in case of east and north facing plots. For south facing plots, it should be southeast and south and for west facing plots, it should be west and northwest. 

 
Remember to follow Vastu principles at every stage of construction, right from laying the foundation stone, preparing the structure, positioning of the different rooms to doing up the interiors which would include colour palette, furnishing and even displaying up of credentials and show pieces in different sections of the house.
