Mirrors

Mirrors are excellent tools to create the illusion of a larger space. But as per vastu, there is another functionality to mirrors—if placed correctly, they can change the energy of a home. Yes its true mirrors have the power to attract positivity and reflect or reject negative energies. They can correct vastu defects, just with their correct placement.

In which directions are the mirrors good.

Mirrors should always be placed on the east and north walls of the house. The mirrors can never be placed on south and west walls.

Which areas the mirrors are good.

Other than the dressing room and washroom, mirrors can be placed in the dining area, right opposite the dining table, so that while having meals, the entire family is reflected in the mirror. The mirrors can never be placed in the bedrooms.

What about the shapes of mirrors

Square and rectangular shapes are preferred in vastu shastra as they spread energies evenly and positively.  Oval mirrors are not considered the best and should be avoided. The circles are also good if they are not cutting the main reflections.
