How should be the enterance of your house

How should be the enterance of your house

- The main door of any building plays an extremely important rule in vaastu, and accounts for at least 15 to 20 percent of this ancient science. This is because it allows the entry of good or bad luck into the building all the time.

- Moreover, this chief access point is like the face of a house and should be taken care of the same way we take care of our face each morning. There are two aspects to ensuring the creation of an auspicious main door one is the direction in which it is located and the other is its general maintenance and upkeep.

- The main door should not only be bigger than all the other doors in the house, its dimensions should also be as defined by vaastu. Ideally, its length and breath ratio should be 1:2. In some buildings, due to the low height of the ceiling, the height of the door is low; while in others, due to shortage of space, the width of the door is less. This creates problems in energy flows related to opportunities and wealth.
The main door should also be the most attractive door in the building. It is believed that the Hindu goddess Maa Lakshmi enters houses whose doors are beautifully maintained. The same stands true of positive energy as well. Hence, it is important that the main door is kept clean at all times, and is not worn out.
The door should be decorated by auspicious symbuls such as an image of kalash, with coconut on it, Maa Lakshmi’s charan (feet) pointing towards the house, or a swastika with “Riddhi Siddhi” and “Shubh Laabh” written on either side of the symbul the swastika represents Lord Ganesha, while Riddhi and Siddhi are his two wives, and Shubh and Laabh are his two sons.
A toran or bhandanwar is a good ornament for the main door. It invites in good luck and wards off bad energies.
Placing a lit diya (earthenware, oil lamp) outside the main door at sunset is a good custom. It helps ward off any negative energies, and also works as a security measure against evil forces.
Creaking sounds made by un-oiled doors kill the positive energy that is about to enter or already exists in the building. Make sure that you lubricate the hinges of all doors (main doors, room doors, cupboard doors etc.) at regular intervals to put an end to these sounds. This applies to creaking windows as well.
The main door should open inward into the house, and towards the left. This allows energy to enter and flow freely. Doors that open towards the right or outwards are not considered auspicious.
Make sure that there is no door, within the building or outside, which faces the main door when you open it.
The presence of a small opening above the main door, in the form of a ventilator, is very auspicious.
You also need to check the presence of any vedh shouls (sharp arrows of energy) outside your building. These vedh shouls can take many forms. For instance, buildings ending or situated at the T end of a road are not auspicious, and a big tree, pule, big wall or building in front of the main door is also not good. Placing bright lights in front of your building is one of the remedies to correct the defects created by shoul.
